time

the last man standing.

Time.

The most valuable currency ever.

Higher than the euros, the bitcoins, than gold itself.

Time is inevitable.

We constantly trade our time in everything we do, from spending quality time with our loved ones, to scrolling endlessly on our phones.

There is one single thing being traded in all these transactions, and that is—time.

Unlike money, once time is spent, it cannot be earned back. This makes it our most precious asset.

Every moment spent is a moment we can't get back.

You don’t get to replay it, it’s done.

That’s the deal.

You give 30 minutes of your life to a YouTube video, the deal is done. You don’t get those 30 minutes back.

I might be sounding like an oldhead now, bear with me. It’s not like some of us perfectly account for and handle each second of our lives, no! xD

We are human. We don’t get to be perfect.

And we shouldn’t try to be either.

There is beauty in the madness. Ugliness in the success. Calm in the chaos.

But what we shouldn’t do, is think there’s all the time in the world left, ‘cause there is not.

The Illusion of Infinite Time

Many people fall into the trap of thinking they have endless time, leading to procrastination and putting off important tasks.

Understanding that our time is limited can inspire us to prioritize what truly matters.

If you were told you had a day to live, wouldn’t you finally take that risk you’ve been wanting to?

Knowing well enough you probably won’t be around to face the consequences?

That is how you should live life every day.

Truth is, none of us know what the next day brings us.

And the day after.

And the day after that.

It is out of our control.

So why bother?

Bringing it back to my first dial, focus on the things you can control.

Do things that you want to, before it’s too late.

You’ll never regret doing something.

Remember, Losses Lessons.

Priorities Change.

I have this thing where when people ask me, ‘Oh why have you changed so much? You aren’t the same guy I knew in school, what happened?’

Simple. My priorities changed.

See if you think about it, everything we do is based on our priorities.

We do the things we like to do. And the we do thing we love the most, most of the time.

Pretty straightforward don’t ya think?

But then why do we feel lost?

Why do we sometimes feel, there’s so much to do and yet, we can’t (or) don’t do anything?

It’s a mutual feeling I promise you.

You and me both. We’ve had this.

We want to do so many things, feeling like we could take the whole world on our shoulders.

But that’s just it.

There’s too much stuff to do. The paradox of choice. When faced with so many options, we get choice-paralyzed and end up doing nish.

Answer? I’ll give it to you straight as always.

Re-order your priorities.

Rethink everything about your day-to-day.

Split your notebook into two columns, ‘things you want to do’ on one side, and ‘things you are currently doing’ on the other.

Let loose, list ‘em all down, and see what it comes to.

And there’s your answer.

Once you see that piece of paper with both columns full, trust me, it becomes absolutely clear(er) what you need to do, and what you need to do more of.

One glance at that paper will tell you everything you need to know.

Thought I’d attach this quote from Dalai Lama, felt a bit relevant to my current situation.

Don’t sacrifice the thing you want, for the thing which is supposed to get it.”

He sacrifices his health in order to make money.

Then he sacrifices money to recuperate his health.

And then he is so anxious about the future that he does not enjoy the present;

the result being that he does not live in the present or the future;

He lives as if he is never going to die, and then dies having never really lived."

Dalai Lama

Always remember, your time is valuable. So thanks for spending it on me.

You are not insignificant in this world. We are all actors in this world.

Some play a role, while some of us have a role to play.

Life is a powerful play that goes on and on, and you may contribute a verse.

So…

What will your verse be?

Yours,
Robin Williams.
