you are what you think about.

the secret to conor mcgregor's success.

I’ve read a countless number of self-help books.

All the famous titles: ‘Think and Grow Rich’, ‘The Power of Your Subconscious Mind’, ‘ The Richest Man in Babylon’, ‘The Secret’, etc.

If you are someone who doesn’t have the attention span to read books, you are welcome.

Because I’m gonna save you so much time by summarizing all these books into one takeaway point.

And that is,

You are what you think about.

You must have heard of the power of positive thinking, and manifestation, and how it’s helped people achieve their goals and dreams.

You probably don’t think all that stuff works. You probably still think that way.

Don’t worry I’m not judging you. I was one of you, and I still am.

Well, to a degree.

See, I used to think in a very logical and scientific manner, meaning input = output type mindset.

And I still do think that way, but now realizing that there can be multiple inputs, if it means it’s all aligned toward getting the same output.

I had a problem with people just praying all day, religiously wishing for something they want to happen, because that’s all they did.

They never actually took any action.

They just sat around, waiting for something and when it didn’t happen, they blamed luck, god, and reasons their way to the next prayer.

This is what really angers me. The fact they have the audacity to divert blame when never doing the work in the first place.

You do not get a job without applying for any.

Now to the point, I’m not saying you shouldn’t pray or wish for stuff to happen. Be my guest, wish for anything you want.

Dream big. Shoot for the stars.

But only after you have done everything in your power and control.

I have a very old-school way of thinking you could say: do, do, do, then get.

But I had my fair share of anxiety about whether it would work out, procrastination, overthinking, all that.

When I came across this concept of manifestation and positive thoughts, I tried it ‘cause why not? I had nothing to lose.

So I tried meditating and all, and it did work for a while before it didn’t.

A couple of months fast forward, I’m still feeling a gap between my input and outputs.

And here’s the game changer.

I found my purpose.

Football, This newsletter, Business: things that I started dreaming about every night.

Here’s what I did, and what I still do.

I feel as if my dreams are already accomplished, and it is in the future, waiting to be collected.

This in turn brought me mental clarity, absolutely knowing what I want.

Everything I did in a day, I made sure it was aligned towards that one ‘overnight success’ night.

As I doze off to sleep (I think I might be insomniac ‘cause I at least take an hour to fall asleep), I visualize myself 5 years down the line, living the life I want, with the people I want.

And I get creative with it.

Why not? It is your dream, after all, you are MEANT to be creative as possible.

Every night, it’s a different country, different car, different time of day, different scenario, different lifestyle, different points in my life.

One time it’s a private dinner with all my boys on the coast of Santorini, wearing old money clothes while we talk about who’s got the worst looking watch.

The other time it’s sunset on a yacht in Bali, jumping off cliffs and shooting water guns (my inner child wanted water guns)

Get real detailed with your dreams.

More the details, more the emotion is involved.

I feel those emotions associated with those moments, as if they have already happened.

I make the vision feel real by connecting emotionally with the desired outcome.

Visualize good outcomes when faced with difficulty. Look on the bright side, always.

Couple this with time, the world universe is your playground.

You can have anything you want. You can be anybody you want. If you want it badly enough.

‘The Notorious’, Conor Mcgregor

Let that sink in. Because it’s the absolute truth.

You are your only limiter.

The sky is not the limit, you are.

Some of you may already have clarity and positive thinking but lack the motivation to take action.

Some of you are taking action every day, but struggle with consistency because you get a bad feeling and a lot of ‘what if…’ questions.

I have been in both shoes.

All you gotta do is couple vision with deliberate action.

I repeat,

Couple vision with deliberate action.

And let time compound.

Congrats. You now own a Bugatti and a penthouse in Miami.
