final dial of 2024.

on reflection, rest, and the road ahead.

(writing this from my hotel room in Morjim, Goa.)

There's something different about these final days of December.

The week between Christmas and New Year's is like a 'dead zone', where you don't feel like working or doing anything productive. All you want to do is lay in bed all day and watch Macaulay Caulkin beat up two grown men with DIY traps.

Might as well take the time to slow things down and reflect. It's always good to park on the side of the road you're traveling. Get out of the car, stretch a bit, take a breather, and look back at how far you've come.

In my last dial 'The Cookie Jar', I talked about how you should have a collection of all your wins in life that you can draw upon to give yourself strength during uncertain times.

Take this week to fill up that cookie jar if you haven't already. Just reminisce about it all. The good, the bad, the ugly from 2024.

Think about where things went right, and where they didn't go as planned.

As you go through these past months, fill your jar up with cookies (could be crumbs as well).

You have traveled far this year.

I may or may not know you personally, but I am SO proud of you.

Why? Because you're still here after it all, and you're reading this.

You deserve this break. More than anything else.

Use this time to recharge your batteries and spend time with your loved ones. Have fun, and enter the new year with excitement, not anxiety.

Things happen, all the time. Good, bad — it's not in your hands. Might as well feel good about it, eh?

To all of you who subscribe and read every week, I love you. Thank you for allowing me to be a part of your sacred Monday mornings - it means the world.

The above email is pretty much exactly why I started, and why I will never stop anytime soon.

If I can make the smallest difference in your life, if I can make you chuckle a bit on a rainy day through this newsletter, I have accomplished my goal.

As I wrap up this final newsletter for 2024, I want to remind you that you DON’T need to have it all figured out. You don't need to emerge from the holiday break with a master plan.

Sometimes, the most powerful thing we can do is simply acknowledge how far we've come, rest deeply, and trust that the path forward will reveal itself in due time.

Only time will tell.

Take care of yourself these final days of December. Let yourself be drawn to whatever form of reflection feels natural. And know that whatever 2024 has been for you – triumphant or trying, steady or surprising – you're exactly where you need to be.

Take care of your health, both physical and mental. Eat well, drink water, and go chase some sunsets.

May your year ahead be everything you dream of, and then some.

Stay dialed in.

Love,
Kumaresh.
